Discover Our Past
Back in 1980, Phyllis Apple, a former reporter for The Charlotte Observer turned socialite, was urged by a friend to turn what she did best—organizing events and cultivating relationships—into a business. And so, with one employee and a typewriter, she launched The Apple Organization from a room in her home. Taking the concept of pounding the pavement literally, Ms. Apple went from showroom to showroom in Miami’s Design District amassing a who’s who of design and retail clients. Apple’s roster grew to include restaurants and hospitality accounts and her operation expanded accordingly. One year later, she moved out of her home and into an office in North Miami Beach.
In 1989, Ms. Apple was given her first opportunity to break into the real estate industry. The Related Group, now the nation’s largest multifamily developer, hired her to represent Mystic Pointe, an enclave of condominiums in the then-burgeoning City of Aventura. Within six weeks, the Apple team had secured five major stories. The legacy had begun.
Follow our Future
While real estate and related industries comprised a significant component of Apple’s client list, we have since diversified and our employees have mastered the art of promoting clients in many different arenas. In fact, dozens of executives at other leading public relations firms across Florida had their career start at Apple. Many longtime employees have since become executives of the firm and are charting a course for future growth. Our senior management team has established a corporate infrastructure to bring the company into the 21st century while still upholding the same boutique firm values and personal attention on which Ms. Apple prides herself.
